250 Series - affordable and easy to install
Dual Roller, Eddy Current, low profile in shop installation
Pin-drop sensitivity - even logs engine power output "smoothness"
4 or 5 Gas EGA - cleanly logs 4 or 5 gases at each rpm point
No better speed control on the market.
Most sensitive torque readings - <30 milliseconds for perfectly
repeatable torque reading!
Most responsive speed readings - <30 milliseconds for perfectly
repeatable speed reading!
Quickest settling eddy current dyno sold in the USA.
Bar none.
EC997a Eddy Current Dynamometer Base |
Bulletproof high hp dyne frame |
Bearings | Special low friction bearings - min. parasitic drag. |
Drive Roller | Special smooth surface OR patented low inertia, slotted drive roller for highest HP capacity (better traction) and lower dyno rotating mass (sensitivity). |
Data Acquisition | 1000x oversampling for max. low power level and speed accuracy. |
Virtual Inertia Test Mode | Active Computer Control - measure each system inertia value. |
Constant Single Load Mode | Specify desired load, then computer calculates parasitic dyno loading. and adds brake load to equal desired load. |
Step Test Mode | Specify start and end speed or rpm. Computer will allow accel. to each point then log data when and only when the engine load and rpm are stabilized. Close throttle to drop to high idle speed to allow engine temp to cool and stabilize. Then repeat. The computer will stop the engine at the next rpm step point. The STEP TEST is the only way to control crankcase and coolant temperature to get correct 4 Gas and EGT. |
Sweep Test Program | Specify accel. rate. Computer applies required load to match - works with any power output. Great for high HP applications where you don't want to do a Step Test. Do Inertia Test first for proper inertia values. |
Real World Vehicle Simulation Mode | Specify weight, # of wheels, Drag Coefficient, frontal area and inertia value from Inertia Test. Computer will replicate load produced during actual real world use. Measure actual energy required to travel at speed. For diagnosing problems under load. |
Inputs available | Analog and digital inputs available for use with our software or as linked to Lab View or similar programs. DDE available. |

The extension of the laboratory
for engines of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology was completed
in about 1935. Its architect was Rudolf Otto Salvisberg (1882-1940).
He had a successful career in Berlin but returned to Switzerland after
the advent of the Nazis. His architectural style was somewhat similar
to that of Erich Mendelsohn. The staircase of the laboratory is in normal
use but well preserved. Edited to the tunes of Chemical Residue by Herbie Hancock. |
